Have you seen an oasis of green over half of which are lush fruit trees that surround a cozy home? There aren't many places in Topock fitting that description. One such place is where our dear neighbor Dr. Ruth Ross welcomes her friends and clients to experience renewal surrounded by a diversity of nature and the many gifts from God.
Ruth spent her childhood in several towns in Southern California, she even recalls the homesteard of her paturnal grandparents in Twenty-Nine Palms that had no electricity or running water. During her school age years she lived in Simi Valley. She attended Woodbury College, a business and art school in downtown Los Angeles and later Moorpark Community College. Before settling into a profession in health care she sampled many diverse career opportunities ranging from fashion design, hospitalitiy industry, scuba diving, accounting, and property management just to name a few. During the first decade after high school she studied art, business, science and chiropractic earning under graduate degrees and culminating in her doctorate.
It was a car accident in 1979 brought Ruth to a chiropractor doctor who motivated her to pursue the profession. After a brief inturnship in the L.A. area she opened her own practice in Ventura. While there she met and married her first husband, had two children and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for her husband's work.
In the early 60s, Ruth's grandparents moved to Topock. Ruth visited only once, Spring break of 1969 . When her grandmother passed leaving the property to her mother Dr. Ruth was in between marriages. In 1996 she helped her mother move from Northern California to the family home on Pima Parkway. By 1998 she embraced the prospect of raising her two children in Topock giving up on efforts to return to California. It was only a few short years before she realized what a blessing it was to be here.
In 1998, after working as a consultant for several years, Dr. Ruth opened an office in Needles where she had a rewarding practice until 2022. Only four months after the passing of her third husband in late 2014 Dr. Ruth had a devestating automobil accident. She spent years recovering from spinal fractures and severe brain injury. It was during this time that the concept of a Garden of Grace and Gratitude and the Pool of Faith and Hope began to form. She left her office in Needles to develop a comprehensive integrated concept of healing, Dr. Ruth uses her own life experience to help others heal from recent or life long traumas. As the names imply attitudes of gratitude, a mindset of faith and hope are nurtured and amplified during sessions. Her absolute conviction that healing is possible comes directly from her own healing experiences and her confidence in the healing capacities that the Creator designed with in each of us.
Losing a spouse, as many of you know, is a spiritual pain which many struggle to overcome. The Garden of Grace and Gratitude and the Pool of Faith create an environment that comforts, and instill a deep sense of peace. Dr. Ruth has found over the decades of practice that everyone encounters physical, emotional and chemical traumas. Her programs are custom designed to reveal the obsticles to healing.
