This month is about kittens!

By Kylie Anderson

I will tell you about my kitten, orange tabby kittens, and why you should get a cat, but first I’m going to talk about my kitten:

My kitten is an orange tabby kitten, and he is about 6 months old. His name is Chunks, but we call him Chunky. He is the cutest thing! Here is a fun fact about him, no matter what you do, whether pick him up, pet him, or even call his name, he purrs. He is very unique! That’s a little bit about my cat.

Next, I’m going to talk about orange tabby kittens. Orange tabby kittens are not rare, but orange female tabby kittens are! Did you know that if orange tabby kittens are males, they have a orange M stripe on their forehead? Also, there are four different patterns on orange tabby cat and none of them are solid. Even though they are not rare, they are different than the other cats for their particularities.

Lastly, why should you get an orange cat? If you want to get a cat you should go for an orange cat and here's why: They have so many characteristics. Orange cats have so many different characters and if you get one you will see that very quickly. One of them is being very silly. When they are being playful they jump around, they purr more than the other cats and if you want a cat to interact with you, the orange ones are the best!

This month is about Youth Night!

By Kylie Anderson

Youth Night is wonderful. It is a way to spend time with friends and connect with others. I will talk about what we do and the reason for it.

First off what we do at Youth Night. We have so much fun!

We love the food, games, music, and the educators. First, we wait for everyone to show up. After everyone is there, we enjoy some games. Most of the games have prizes, thanks to our lovely leaders Ms. Mary, Ms. Edna, and Mr. Gene. They provide the food and last month we had our favorite – PIZZA! We really had a great time!

After we eat comes the activities. Last month we had a fun game that involved toilet paper. What we had to do was, we had three ping-pong balls, then we had to try to roll the ping-pong balls into the center of the rolls of toilet paper. If one of our balls landed in one of the toilet paper, then we got a prize that was written in a little piece of paper inside the roll. When I rolled my ping-pong ball and it landed inside one of the toilet paper rolls, my prize was a piece of coal! Even though I did not win the bigger prize, I loved playing it. It was really fun! If you come to the Youth Night, you can play with us too. There are also games like air hockey and ping-pong. All activities are great!

In sum, the reason for this fun night is for the kids in town to meet and spend time together in a safe place. Besides all the fun we have we spend time as a group and our leaders talk to us about God. We learn how to have a better understanding about Jesus, and how much we are loved by God. We would love to see more kids there.

Youth night is from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday February 11th and 25th at the Golden Shores Community Baptist Church in the fellowship hall. Be there or be square!

Family Christmas.

By Kylie Anderson

This month is about Christmas. I will tell you about some traditions that my family and I have. Also, I will tell you about activities to do with your family on Christmas, and lastly, I will tell you about our Christmas schedule and what we do during the day.

First me and my family love to make Italian food on Christmas. My family and I make lasagna and a special sauce for dinner. My dad loves to make cannoli after dinner for dessert. For appetizers, during the day, we make mozzarella sticks and Italian sausage dip. The reason we love Italian food so much is because we are part Italian. Can you tell?

Next, let’s talk about some fun activities you can do with your family at Christmas, after opening presents of course. There are so many games available, and they are not so expensive. If you received one of them for Christmas, you’re lucky, so this is a great opportunity to play those games together with your family, Monopoly is one of my favorites because it lasts a long time. Another thing you can do is convince your relatives to go on a walk with you, but if they don’t want to leave the house, you can make a lot of memories cooking together. So, in sum, my suggestions would be, playing games, going on a walk, cooking, fishing, swimming and traveling.

To conclude, my family’s schedule on Christmas Day is something like this: My family meet to drink coffee. Then we open VFW gifts, then the ones from the Fire Department, then family gifts, and lastly get ready for the day. My family and I do the same thing every year and I love it!

I wish all my readers Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hello! This month is all about Thanksgiving!

I will tell you what my family traditions are and then I will tell you what activities you can do with your family and friends. Lastly, I will tell you what I will be writing about next month and what I will talk about.

First, on Thanksgiving, my family and I love helping each other cook. Some of the traditions we have are to make potato cheese lasagna, ham, and mashed potatoes. We are so happy when it comes to cooking! Another important family tradition we have is praying right before dinner with the whole family. That is a really special time for all of us. If you don’t have family traditions, you should start some.

Something else nice to do on Thanksgiving is activities and games you can play with your family. Some activities I like to do with my family is going on a walk. Going on walks is a great way to spend time with family members on this special holiday. You can also play board games. The ones that I like are Monopoly, Twister, Clue, Connect 4, and Yahtzee.

In conclusion, there are many things you could do at Thanksgiving. I gave you some ideas of stuff you can do with your family. I would love to hear yours.

Next month I will talk about Christmas and New Years! Hope you enjoyed reading my article and I wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!

The Colorado River here in Golden Shores/Topock AZ is absolutely breath taking!

We have access to some pretty awesome beaches. We also have several launch ramps for people to use. Restaurants are just minutes from the water and outdoor fun like hunting, fishing, hiking, and so much more.

Another awesome part of being near the Colorado River is wildlife. I have seen some of the coolest animals just feet away from me. One time a coyote walked right passed us and even stopped in front of our car for a photo. This was just one of the awesome creatures we have here. When we are in the water, we can feel fishes swimming near our legs while we watch so many rare birds flying nearby.

I considered myself to be lucky to have the opportunity to go swimming at the Colorado River so often. If you have not been there, you should try.

This month is Halloween, so next time I will tell you all about Trunk or Treat at the Community Park where I will meet several of my friends.

Have a nice October!

Back to school

Kids! I know you have been back to school since August 7th, but here is the calendar that you all should have already and remember: You will never forget the time you spent in school, make the best of it!
